Marcus Miller - Grammy Award winner in 2001 - Booked!


Marcus Miller, winner of the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album of 2001, was born in Brooklyn in 1959 and raised in Jamaica, New York. He came from a musical family and was influenced early on by his father, a church organist and choir director, as well as his musical extended family (which included the extraordinary Wynton Kelly, jazz pianist for Miles Davis during the late fifties and early sixties!). He displayed an early affinity for all types of music.
 

Issac Delgado, Latin spirits from Miami coming to Aruba


In 1983 he began his professional career becoming one of the members of the Orquestra de Pancho Alonso. He then began to travel internationally with the orchestra and recorded his first CD. In 1987 he becomes the vocalist for Galaxia and records his second CD. In 1988, he became the lead vocalist in the group NG La Banda. It was with this group that he found fame. He recorded three CDs with this band and was awarded the 1990-1991 EGREM prize.

Keyboardist and recording artist Lao Tizer captivates audiences of all ages and musical tastes. Lao has been proclaimed “an independent artist with all the right moves” and “a torchbearer for the new generation of contemporary jazz.”

Swing and dance with Swing Design!


Thirty-two talented musicians, united in the Dutch Big Band Swing Design, will be performing their swinging music at the upcoming Aruba Sea Jazz Festival. With tons of successes at international festivals beneath their belt, this Big Band will surely be one of the highlights of the much-anticipated event. Expect interaction with the audience, a fantastic show and lots of spontaneous fun when Swing Design is on stage.

Swing Design was formed in Maastricht, Holland, in 1983.

Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival - Edition 4 (2010)

The forth edition of the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival Aruba will take place on October 8 and 9, 2010. This Festival is organized -once again- to provide the people of Aruba and its visitors a high quality music event with the best possible line-up.
