El Prove

El Prove

The Timba is explosive Cuban music; it is the kind of music that you cannot sit still on – you have to get up and dance. It is a phenomenon that is fairly recent: the Timba only started in the late 1980’s. Explaining it one can say that it is a combination of rhythms with a contemporary, yet traditional harmony and put into a cadre by the
percussionist. It creates a fusion of the Cuban Son, the Salsa, the Rumba and Jazz.

Cuban-born `El Prove’, Eduardo Proveyer, lets loose when playing the Cuban Timba on his soprano saxophone.
